Actor's Intensive Offers: 5 Week Technique Class

This class is for all levels of actors.

Using both Method and Meisner based techniques, we will focus on basic relaxation and helping the actor make clear and specific choices rooted in what he/she is “doing”.Each student will gain an understanding of what it means to be an artist and create work that is alive and rooted in the truth of each individual actor.

A few areas we will cover:

• How does an actor gain awareness of physical tension and releases this tension?
• What are the set givens a writer is asking an actor to work with so a character's truth can be revealed?
• How can an actor create change within his or herself rather then change the character to suit the actor?
• What is the character’s “need”? How is this “need” attained?
  
  Basic course outline:
  
• We will be working on monologues and exercises to develop technique.
• We will also focus on audition technique at different times through out the session.
