Fall 5 Week Intensive Acting Class Begins on Oct. 12th!!

Five-week Technique ClassLA Oct. 12 – Nov. 9, 2010

This class is for all levels of actors.

Using both Method and Meisner based techniques, we will focus on basic relaxation and helping the actor make clear and specific choices rooted in what he/she is “doing”. Each student will gain an understanding of what it means to be an artist and create work that is alive and rooted in the truth of each individual actor.

A few areas covered:

• How an actor gains awareness of physical tension and releases this tension.
• Finding the “set givens” so a character’s truth can be revealed.
• Creating change within one’s self rather then changing the character.
• What is the character’s “need”? How is this “need” attained?

Basic course outline:

• Actors will be working on monologues and exercises to develop technique.
• We will also focus on audition technique at different times through out the session.
